Jim Iyke has been a staple in Nollywood for years. He’s known for his bad-boy roles and intense facial expressions, but let’s face it—he often plays the same character in every movie. His roles rarely show range or emotional depth, and while he brings star power, his performances don’t always match the hype. Yes, he’s a fan favorite, but being famous and being versatile are two different things.
🎭 Overrated: Destiny Etiko
Destiny Etiko is definitely a social media queen and a fashion statement in her own right, but when it comes to acting, the repetition is loud. Most of her roles fall into the same template—loud, dramatic, and emotionally explosive. While she brings energy to the screen, I feel like her acting could benefit from more subtlety and growth in diverse roles.

Her performances in films like Phone Swap, The Meeting, and King of Boys were simply world-class. She brings a level of emotional maturity and realism that’s hard to find. Yet, she doesn’t get nearly as much hype as she deserves. Maybe it’s because she stays lowkey off-screen, but talent like hers should be front and center.

Tope Tedela is another gem who is often overlooked. His work in films like Slow Country and King Invincible showcases his versatility and depth. He’s not your typical loud Nollywood actor, but his calm and collected performances have an unforgettable presence. If Nollywood truly wants to push boundaries, actors like Tope deserve more lead roles.
🌟 Underrated: Tina Mba
Veteran actress Tina Mba consistently delivers excellence in every role. Whether she's playing a mother, a businesswoman, or a traditional chief, she gives 100%. Her role in The Set Up and Breaded Life proved that supporting characters can often outshine the leads. Yet, she rarely makes the "Top 10" lists that she clearly deserves to be on.
